Delegate Danny Marshall Earns Virginia Chamber of Commerce 2014
“Champion of Free Enterprise” Award.
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce released its 2014 Legislative Report Card, which grades legislators based on their support of pro-business issues during the 2014 legislative session. Delegate Danny Marshall (R-Danville) earned a rating of 100, an A+ for his pro-business voting record at the Virginia General Assembly.
Delegate Marshall stated, “Pro-business policies bring companies that bring jobs. Attracting and keeping jobs is always my number one focus for my area. I am happy to see the high rating and honored to receive the award. AND IF YOU SEE MY MOTHER, PLEASE TELL HER THAT I GOT an A+ 100!”
Calculated annually, based on legislators’ voting records on the principles and issues outlined in Blueprint Virginia: A Business Plan for the Commonwealth, the Legislative Report Card recognizes legislators for their support on initiatives that will help move Virginia forward.
“We applaud Delegate Danny Marshall’s efforts in supporting the principles outlined in Blueprint Virginia. With the support of pro-business legislators like Delegate Marshall, we can continue to strengthen Virginia’s business climate and maintain Virginia’s ranking as the Best State for Business,” said Barry DuVal, President and CEO, VA Chamber.
The Virginia Chamber statement went on to say:
“In the 2014 session, Virginia made great strides in advancing early childhood education, making the business climate more competitive, improving our transportation infrastructure using innovative technologies and making Virginia a more veteran-friendly state. The Legislative Report Card is a valuable tool for identifying legislators who uphold free market principles and support the interests of the business community. With the strong support of pro-business legislators, we can continue to strengthen Virginia as the Best State for Business.” (As rated by Forbes 2013)
