Delegate Danny Marshall Earns Virginia Chamber of Commerce 2019
“Free Enterprise Award”
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce named Delegate Danny Marshall (R-Danville) as a recipient of the Free Enterprise Award for his support of pro-business policies during the 2019 legislative session, with special emphasis on his work on Energy and Infrastructure. Of the 100 members of the Virginia House of Delegates, Delegate Marshall was one of just 28 delegates to receive recognition. The Virginia Chamber of Commerce recognizes legislators with the “Free Enterprise Award” for work to improve Virginia’s economic competitiveness.
Delegate Marshall was also recognized recently by the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce for his pro-business actions at their Annual Awards dinner.
The Free Enterprise Award recognizes legislators for their support for the principles and initiatives outlined in the Chamber’s long-term economic development plan, Blueprint Virginia 2025, which seeks to again make Virginia the # 1 state for business.
“At the Virginia Chamber, we recognize the important role that legislators play in bringing the business community together and making Virginia the best state for business,” said Barry DuVal, President and CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “These legislators have been vital in defending Virginia’s business climate and advancing the goals of Blueprint 2025, to ensure Virginia continues to grow and prosper.”
Delegate Marshall stated, “It is an honor to be selected for this award. I work hard every day to help Virginia and our region to grow jobs that support our families. Policies matter. Votes at the General Assembly matter. It is crucial that we remain a ‘Right to Work’ state that attracts business and industry. Virginia thrives when businesses thrive. “
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the largest business advocacy organization in the Commonwealth, with more than 26,000 members. The Chamber is a non-partisan, business advocacy organization that works in the legislative, regulatory and political arenas to act as the catalyst for positive change in all areas of economic development and competitiveness for Virginia.
